  • Psychoeducational assessments, screening and diagnosis for autism spectrum disorders, including Asperger Syndrome

I have extensive experience administering psychoeducational assessments to school districts throughout southern Alberta. When administering assessments, particularly to individuals with disabilities, it requires sensitivity, patience, and understanding of their challenges in order that the results produce useful, valid information. Assessments are key in funding requests, programming, and appreciating learning profiles. Sound psychoeducational assessments provide the cognitive and functional basis to ensure that expectations are appropriate and programming is compatible with the results and recommendations.

In addition, I have considerable training in screening, diagnosing, and working with children and adults within the autism spectrum. Diagnosing someone within the spectrum can be the first step in understanding and managing the disorder; not only for the individual themselves, but for those significant in their lives.

  • Socio-Emotional Disorders, following DSM-5 (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual 5) guidelines and criteria
